Speaking is one of English skill. Naturally, it is the most important activity that done by everyone in this world. Speaking is also one of the subjects in the English teaching learning process. There are many factors that stimulate students to have good speaking skill. One of them is the circumstance of the ideal speaking in the speaking class. It could be created by the lecturer and also the student’s response in the process of teaching learning. Ideally, if the teacher and the students can make a good circumstance in the speaking class, it will create the ideal speaking class. Finally, it also will be the most important stimulation to improve the student’s speaking skill. They will be enjoy and amaze to join and active to practice their speaking skill.
The researcher formulates two research problems in this thesis; what are the student’s perceptions of the ideal circumstance of speaking class at second semester of English Teaching Learning Program of STAIN Pamekasan? And what are the kinds of circumstance of speaking class at second semester of English Teaching Learning Program of STAIN Pamekasan? So, the researcher proposes this thesis to describe the student’s perceptions of the ideal speaking class a second semester of English Teaching Learning Program of STAIN Pamekasan and also to describe the kinds of speaking class circumstance at second semester of English Teaching Learning Program of STAIN Pamekasan.
The researcher uses the qualitative approach as the approach of research and the descriptive research as the kinds of this research. On the other hand, the writer also uses many kinds of research instrument in gathering the data. They are research area, data source, data collection, data analysis, validating finding and also some research steps.
The data analysis’ result shows about the student’s perceptions of the ideal class room circumstance are very varieties. They state that some factors influence to create the ideal speaking class room. Such as, the lecturer ability in teaching. For example, the choice of the technique, the topic and also the media. On the other hand, the motivation from the lecturer also makes a good way to invite the students’ interest. The kinds of class circumstance are found by the researcher from the result of the interview. The researcher divides four types of the class circumstances; active class, free class, enjoys class and conducive class.
Based on the result above, it is suggested for the students and the lecturer to always give and keep nice relationship to create the ideal classroom environment. The successful of teaching learning process is based on the cooperation of lecturer and students.
