Pronunciation has an important role in learning English because it used in all skill, especially in listening, speaking and reading skill. Teaching pronunciation needs more time, so it can make the students feel bore. Therefore, teacher needs to use the interesting technique and activities to make the students interesting in learning pronunciation. One of the techniques can be used is recording technique.
There are three research problems in this study. They are how the teacher implements recording technique in teaching pronunciation at Ainul Falah English Course (AFEC), how she makes the students able to pronounce English sounds clearly and accurately, and the advantages and disadvantages of this technique both for the teacher and students of Ainul Falah English Course (AFEC).
While the objectives of this study are to describe how the teacher implements recording technique in teaching pronunciation at Ainul Falah English Course (AFEC), to make the students able to pronounce English sounds clearly and accurately, and to find out the advantages and disadvantages of this technique both for the teacher and the students of Ainul Falah English Course (AFEC).
The researcher uses qualitative approach in research design, while the kind of this researchis is descriptive research. The researcher wants to describe and informs the readers how the teacher implements recording technique in teaching pronunciation at Ainul Falah English Course (AFEC) in words. The research instruments that the researcher used are interview, observation, and documentation.
Based on the result of research, the researcher finds that in implementing recording technique at Ainul Falah English Course (AFEC), the teacher did it into two ways. She records and replays her students' speeches while the teaching and learning process occur in the class. Another is the students record their own speeches outclass then teacher replays it in the class. To make them able to pronounce sounds accurately, the teacher did three steps, they are transcribing, read and record, and replay it. This technique has some advantages and disadvantages both for the teacher and for students. The advantages for the students are it can make them more motivated in learning pronunciation and give more authority to practice their pronunciation, while for the teacher is to help her in assessing and evaluating the students and know both her students' ability and lack. The advantages of this technique are the teaching and learning process especially in the process of correction depends on the students' recording, the technical problems can occur when replayed the recording and the noisy environment also can disturb both when record and replay the students' recording.
Based on the result above, it's important for the teacher to give each students more practice their pronunciation to make them able to pronounce the accurate and correct one by record and replay their own speeches, so teacher can make them more interested in joining the teaching and learning process, he also can know both his students' ability and lack.
