Leadership is one of kind of behaviors. Leadership of Teacher is ability of
teacher to leads the classroom situation Speaking is one of the basic skill that be
mastered by student. Considering that English as an international language
someone needs it to get the information in the world, to increase social
economic, to follow up modern technology
There are two problems of study in this research. Firstly, is the better the
leadership of teacher, the better the students on speaking skill at the third
semester of STAIN Pamekasan? Secondly, is there any statistical significance
the correlation of leadership of teacher on speaking skill at third semester of
STAIN Pamekasan?.
Based on the problems of study, there are two objectives of study in this
research. Firstly, to measure whether the better of leadership of teacher, the
better the student on speaking skill at the third semester of STAIN Pamekasan.
Secondly, to examine statistical significance the correlation of leadership of
teacher on speaking skill at third semester of STAIN Pamekasan
This research uses quantitative research design where the data is analyzed
by using statistical procedure. This research is correlation design which
involves variable X (leadership of teacher) and variable Y (speaking skill). The
population of this research is 130 students and the researcher takes 33 as sample
of this research.
The result of this research is the value of “rxy” is 0,227 and the value of
“rtable” is 0,344. The result shows that the value of “rxy” is lower than “rtable”.
Based on the table interpretation, the researcher knows that the value of “rxy” is
0,227 in interval 0,20-0,399 is in low level.
So the hypothesis is rejected. The researcher can give conclusion there is
no correlation of leadership of teacher on speaking skill at the third semester of
STAIN Pamekasan
