THE ANALYSIS OF SLOGAN ON MOTORCYCLE USING SEMANTIC MEANING AT STAIN PAMEKASAN

According to the way people use language variety of language are
split into two, namely spoken and written, the written language used by
people to persuade or to promote their product like slogan, slogan is a
short phrase or sentence mean to gain attention and get specific massage
across quickly while the Semantic is the study of meaning communicated
through language. The focus of this research are: what are the slogan that
the motorcycle company writes and the second is what are the semantic
meaning of slogans, and the research objective: to know the slogan that the
motorcycle company writes and to know the semantic meaning of slogan.
This research uses qualitative research design where the data
analyzed using content analysis and the data collected from the
observation that observe the motorcycle at STAIN Pamekasan that have
slogan and with documentation the researcher take the picture of slogan
The result of this research is the researcher finally take six slogans
on motorcycle, after that the researcher analyze the slogans using
conceptual meaning and associative meaning in semantic, Conceptual
meaning covers those basic, essential components of meaning that are
conveyed by the literal use of a word and associative meaning is person
connotation or association, associations and connotation may differ from
one person to the next to know the real meaning of that slogan and from
the analysis the researcher make the result of the research that are the real
meaning of slogan 1. Spirit of riding performance: The real meaning of
this slogan is the person who ride this motorcycle can get happy feeling
because the motorcycle is perfect or this motorcycle made by high
engineering. 2. Smart riding experience: is this motorcycle have
superiority in experience of travel on the street. 3. Real street fighter: is
this motorcycle is have a true power or strength to bring heavy passenger
or rider, and this motorcycle strength enough to tour one city to another
city. 4. Street fire: The real meaning of the fourth slogans is the
motorcycle braveness on the street means that the motorcycle that have
this slogan “street fire” is brave or can drive in a difficult track or in a nice
track. 5. Street runner: The real meaning of this slogan is this motorcycle
speed or fast in a road. 6. Revolution cruiser: The real meaning of the last
slogan is the motorcycle that made by modern engineering that are speed
and strong.
Based on the result of the research the researcher conclude that the
researcher takes six slogan that are: spirit of riding performance, smart
riding experience, real street fighter, street fire, street runner and the last is
revolution cruiser.

future researcher
