THE USE OF WRITTEN FEEDBACK TECHNIQUE ON STUDENTS’ WRITING SKILL AT THE TENTH GRADE OF SMA TARBIYATUS SHIBYAN JADUNG DUNGKEK SUMENEP

Written feedback technique is a technique when students get writing
task activity and students have right or wrong answer that teacher give controlling
testing, activity to them, the teacher will mark their effort right or wrong, possibly
penciling or responding for their answer. Writing is one of skill in English
language learning. It is writing to communicate information to a reader or group
of reader.
There are two problems in this research. The first, how does the the
teacher use written feedback technique on students’ writing skill at the tenth grade
of SMA Tarbiyatus Shibyan Jadung Dungkek Sumenep. The second, how does
the feedback technique enhance students’ writing skill at the tenth grade of SMA
Tarbiyatus Shibyan Jadung Dungkek Sumenep.
Base on the research problem above, there are also two research
objectives in this research. The first, to describe how the teacher uses written
feedback technique on students’ writing skill at the tenth grade of SMA
Tarbiyatus Shibyan Jadung Dungkek Sumenep. The second to know how the
written feedback technique enhances students’ writing skill at the tenth grade of
SMA Tarbiyatus Shibyan Jadung Dungkek Sumenep.
In this research, the researcher uses qualitative approach, while kind of
this research is descriptive research. The researcher get the data by using
observation, interview and this research took place for two weeks, from 16th May30th
May 2016, and the researcher add documentation to prove the valid data.
The result of the research showed that the teacher used written feedback
technique on students’ writing skill at the tenth grade of SMA Tarbiyatus Shibyan
Jadung Dungkek Sumenep. The teacher used this technique when the teacher gave
writing task to students and the teacher responded or commented students writing
task. Students can know where their writing task will revise and do for the next.
While the teacher used four procedures of written feedback technique, those were
detail presented is better, avoiding comparison one student with other students,
students is unique, considering the time. Written feedback technique has some
usefulness to enhance students’ writing skill, those were the students has more
spirit to revise their writing when the teacher gave responds rather than imposed,
the students can know their weaknesses in writing, and it will make students has
motivation to write better than before in writing.
Based on the result above, using of written feedback technique is very
useful for the teacher to make students more creative and active in writing
learning process, because written feedback technique has some advantages in
teaching writing that the researcher mentioned in the result of this research.
