Discourse is defined as the biggest unit of language to be
used in communication to deliver certain idea. One of the
important things to know in communication is knowing of the idea
in communication between the speaker (adressor) and the hearer
(adresse) or writer ( adressor) and the reader (listener).
Newspaper has been being the necessity for human to get
information in certain topic. The topic which want to deliver is
arranged in certain arrangement by jurnalist. Teun Van Dijk has
the way how to know about this case.
From the phenomenon above, the researcher is interested to
take the topic "A Media Discourse Analysis On Newspaper In Joko
Widodo's Cabinet Period By Using Social Cognition Approach" .
From the explantion above, the researcher formulates the
research problem as follow; (1) what is the theme on newspaper in
Joko Widodo's cabinet period based on Teun Van Dijk’s
perspective, (2) what is theme is composed on newspaper In
JokoWidodo's cabinet period based on Teun V. Dijk’s perspective,
and (3) how is the scheme on newspaper in Joko Widodo's cabinet
period based on Teun Van Dijk’s perspective.
In finding, (1)the jurnalist want to inform the reader about
Mr. Jokowi as president guides all of members Ayo Kerja cabinet
in his goverment to make Indonesia will be better, (2) the jurnalist
want to reader the reader about the statement or reporting in
composing of the text about Jokowi’s effort to improve Ayo Kerja
cabinet, (3) and In the title contains sentence or clause how Jokowi
as president and his cabinet manage this country and the body

contains about the reporting of Jokowi’s goverment to bring
indonesia will be better in the future.
In conclusion, In conclusion all of the content, composing
and scheme of the text is considered as jurnalist’s cognition. So, in
this case, the jurnalist want to inform, compose and design of the
text about Jokowi as president try to lead, improve and bring
Indonesia in his goverment will be better in the furture.
