THE ANALYSIS OF CRITICAL THINKINGS OF IWAN FALS SONGS LYRIC IN MAHATMA GHANDI’S PERSPECTIVES

There are some reasons that influence the reasercher to analyse Iwan Fals
songs. Firts, his song consist about critical thikings and that is very interesting.
Second, in his song almost contain the deep meaning. The third, Iwan Fals is one
of the famouse singer in Indonesia and it makes the researcher awosame and to be
conducted analyze his song. In this reaserch, the reasercher analyse the critical
thinkings based on Mahatma Ghandi’s perspectives, which is applied in seventeen
Iwan Fals songs. They are, Asik Ngak Asyik, Etiopia, Surat Wakil Rakyat, Siang
Sebrang Istana, Lancar, Nak 2, Politik Uang, Katanya, Tikus- tikus Kantor, Bento,
Rekening Gendut, Sumbang, Negara, Negeri Kaya, Bongkar, Puing, and
Kesaksian.
The focus of this reaserch are the critical thinkings in Iwan Fals’s songs
lyric and how are the critical thinkings in Iwan Fals’s songs lyric in Mahatma
Ghandi’s perspectives.
The objective of this reaserch are finding the critical thinkings in Iwan
Fals’s songs lyric and analyze the critical thinkings in Iwan Fals’s songs lyric in
Mahatma Ghandi’s perspectives and giving descriptive explanation on it.
The approach of this reaserch is qualitative while the reaserch method
applied in this reaserch is descriptive reaserch. The qualitative approach here is
the reasercher describes the data in the form of words. The data are taken from
seventeen Iwan Fals’s songs mentioned above. The instrument used in this
reaserch is reasercher himself. He has searched, collected and read the data that
contain the critical thinkings then analyze them clearly about critical thinkings in
Iwan fals’s songs in Mahatma Ghandi’s perspectives.
The result of the analysis are some findings indicated to the critical
thinkings based on Mahatma Ghandi’s perspectives; politic without principle,
assets without work, economic activity without moral, education without
character, enjoyment without heart, knowledge without humanity and worship
without sacrifice. The critical thinkings found mostly used to express Iwan Fals
ideas. The songs from Iwan Fals are almost contain with the critical thinkings as
mentioned above and those related to human life.
