THE ANALYSIS OF INDONESIAN-ENGLISH CODES MIXING FOUND IN TALK SHOW “CERITA PEREMPUAN” TRANS TV PROGRAM

Code mixing occurs when the conversant mix two or more
languages in a speech or in a discourse without any requirement, the
relaxed of the speaker or his/her habit get involved in that situation.
There are many programs in television which the actors or actress mix
their conversation by English. The researcher is interest to choose
Cerita Perempuan programs because the women’s language is different
with mens language. The style of women and men is also different.
Women tend to ask many things and keep their feelings. But men speak
by using a daily language, and more factual. This program will help
people who watch this program to learn positive things from inspiring
guest, phsychologiest and Preacher who contemplate everything based
on islamic values.Based on the phenomena, there are two research
problems of the study. The first, What are the kinds of code mixing
used in Talk show Cerita Perempuan in Trans Tv programs?. What are
the lexical meaning of code mixing that are found in Talk show Cerita
Perempuan in Trans tv programs? This study used descriptive
qualitative research. To collect the data the researcher used two data
collection procedures, those are: observation and documentation .
Based on the result of observation and documentation. the form
of code mixing that are found was divided into six forms, namely code
mixing in the form of word, phrase, repetition of word, hybrid, idiom
and clause. The form of code mixing also has lexical meaning. Lexical
meaning is a meaning presented by dictionary. The writer also give the
lexical meaning in each of code mixing. As the result this sudy, it is
hoped the readers will know forms, lexical meaning of code mixing
between English and Indonesian that used in Cerita Perempuan program
and students can improve knowledge of sociolinguistic. And also It is
suggested for future researchers to analyzed code mixing in the other point of
view.
