Memorizing is an activity to receive, remember and produce the information that is gotten from the sigth. Memorizing is a suitable way to use in order to have much vocabularies, because having much vocabularies as like having much money that everything can be bought also by having much vocabularies can make everything can be produced or expressed either orally (Speaking) or in the written fonn (writing). So that, the members of APK (Asrama Puteri Khadijah) obliged to memorize and submit the English vocabulary minimally five vocabularies in one submition that occurred in every three days (Thursday, Friday and Saturday). It has purpose to increase the speaking ability which will lead the speaker to speak fluently, pronounce well and comprehend the grammar.
There are two focuses in this research; the problems of memorizing English vocabulary on speaking ability faced by new members at Asrama puteri khadijah (APK) and the ways of new members at Asrama Puteri Khadijah (APK) to solve their problems in memorizing English vocabulary on their speaking ability.
In this research, the researcher uses qualitative as an approach of this research and descriptive as kind of the research. The researcher uses three instruments in collecting the data; Observation, interview and documentation. For analyzing the data, the researcher uses data reduction,data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. Then the researcher uses triangulation of data source and data coHection technique in checking the validity of data.
The result of this research found by the researcher is that the new members at Asrama Puteri Kbadijah (APK) get some problems in memorizing English V?cabulary on their speaking ability from linguistic problems such as finding sLmifarity of English vocabulary, do not know how to pronounce the English words, do not know how to arrange the word in a sentence, having limited vocabulary, easy to forget and from non-linguistic problem such as influencing by the partner of speaking, tacking of confidence. And they found their own ways to solve their problems such as opening English dictionary to know the meaning and the category of the similar words, opening Oxford dictionary and downloading the digital dictionary to know the pronunciation of the English words, opening grammar book and share it with their friends, mixing their languages, opening dictionary and repeat to red the vocabularies to make their memorization stronger, forcing themselves using their mime and gesture to make their partner understand, motivating themselves to increase their confidence.
