THE USE OF REALIA MEDIA ON STUDENTS' VOCABULARY MASTERY AT SEVENTH GRADE OF SMPN 4 PAMEKASAN

Realia is one of media that usually use by teacher to students to teach or delivering the
lesson. Learning English is not only listening to the teacher’s explanation and doing tasks.
Through realia, students will understand a word better since realia provide a real color and
shape. This research focuses on The use of realia media on students’ vocabulary mastery.
Besides, the researcher takes the object of the research at seventh grade of SMPN 4
Pamekasan
There are two research focus in this study. The first one is How does the teacher use
of realia media on students’ vocabulary mastery at seventh grade of SMPN 4 Pamekasan. The
second one is What are the advantages and disadvantages of using realia media on students’
vocabulary mastery at seventh grade of SMPN 4 Pamekasan.
In this research, the researcher uses qualitative as an approach of this research. The
researcher uses three instruments in collecting the data; observation, interview, and
documentation. For analyzing the data, the researcher uses data condensation, data display,
and verifying conclusion. Then the researcher uses triangulation of data source in checking
the validity of data.
The result of this research that found by the researcher are: the first, the use of realia
media also help the teacher to share the lesson to the students and sure the students will easy
to remember the material because the student do not fell bored in the class. Second, the use of
realia media have some advantages and disadvantages in teaching learning proccess.
Based on the result above, it is suggested for the students by understanding the realia
media it is hope help the students more understand about the use of media. It is suggested for
English teacher this research is expected to give the English teacher an insight about the use
of a media such as audio media, audio visual media or others media and the last one it is
suggest for others researcher the researcher hope to the next researcher who interestd in
media especially realia media to conduct another research with a scope of media especially
realia media by using a different method of analysis to get more accurate finding.
