This study describes the cultural values contained in a poem by a writer from
Madura, namely D. Zawawi Imron, with the tittle of the poem “Madura akulah
Darahmu” based on Koentjarangrat perspective. There are tree research focus in
this research, there is a research focus namely: What are cultural values in D.
Zawawi Imron poetry “Madura Akulah Darahmu” Koentjarangrat perspective. The
researcher decides to discuss cultural values in the poetry. In this modern era,
cultural issues can influence people`s thoughts. Because culture cannot escape in
human life. The importance of cultural values to develop an education in national
culture. Culture is a social heritage. There is another opinion about cultural, cultural
is a literary work produced by humans. There forms, namely:
1. Cultural is a complex of ideas, values, regulation, and other.
2. As complex of activities from individuals to society.
As objects of human work. While the elements of cultural in general are as follow:
1. Universal system of religion and ceremonies.
2. Community organization.
3. Knowledge.
4. Language.
5. Art.
6. Livelihood.
7. Technology.
The method that used by researcher to analyses the poetry is Christopher Russell
Reask, How To Analyze Poetry, and to analysis the cultural values used
Koentjarangrat perspective, to analysis the cultural values there are some method
in Koentjarangrat perspective, a). Expressive Theory, b).Mimetic Theory, c)
.Objective Theory, d). Pragmatics Theory. All of the theory to Analysis the cultural
values in a poem.
