Grammar is a language system. Grammar is also defined as the rules of language. When grammar is defined as a rule, before we speak we must adjust the word to the grammar rules such as the arrangement of subject and object. As we all know, the language it self start with a person making a voice, making a word, then a phrase and then a sentence. While Errors is a mistake. It can be said that errors is a state that is not as expected. Errors can be caused due to ignorance or misunderstanding. So grammar errors is a mistake that happen in language system or the rules of language.
There are three research focus in this study the first one is What are the grammar errors on writing facebook status made by SANTRI at kebun baru boarding school in English area from 2019-2020 years. The second is What are the types of grammar errors on writing facebook status made by SANTRI at kebun baru boarding school in English area from 2019-2020 years. The third is What are the causes make the Islamic students at kebun baru boarding school in English area write the grammar errors in facebook status.
In this research the researcher uses qualitative as an approach of this research. The researcher use two instrument in collecting the data: observation and documentation. And to collecting the data the researcher use screenshot of status facebook which made by santri at kebun baru boarding school in English area.
The result of this research that found by researcher are: the first, there are many grammar errors in writing facebook status which made by santri at kebun baru boarding school moreover in part adding to be and use tenses by good grammar. Most of them pay less attention to the arrangement of a sentence and in accordance with the formula of the sentence itself. Because they are used to using English not with a focus on using good grammar because for them as long as they are easy to understand the meaning of communicating with each other then that is enough. And also they usually use English when speaking or communicating every day in the English headquarters environment. Second, the errors that are often found are typos which cause the meaning of the word itself to change and this is also part of the grammar section where errors are common. But other than that, the grammar errors that are mostly done by the new garden students are misformation errors and almost 50 percent make mistakes in this regard.
