“Watching English Movies in Learning Speaking Skill in the Second Semester Students during Covid-19 of English Teaching Learning Program at IAIN Madura

During the covid-19 pandemic, make the rules of education have change
where students have to study online at home. For English students there are many
ways they can continue to learn their speaking skill, such as watching English movie.
From this phenomenon, this research focus on the ways of learning speaking skill
with English movie during Covid-19 and the advantages of watching English movie
in learning speaking skill during covid-19.
In this research, the researcher uses a descriptive research with a qualitative
approach which aims to explain in depth about how the English students learning
speaking skill during the covid-19 pandemic by watching movies. To obtain the data,
the researcher used three research procedures, namely observation, interview, and
documentation. On data validity, the researcher used source triangulation technique
by comparing the result of observation and the result of interview.
The result of this research, there are three ways of learning speaking skill
with English movie in the second semester students that are writing unknown
vocabulary and practicing, imitate the actors when speaking and implement the words
that have been obtained into daily life. And the advantages of watching English
movie in learning speaking skill are watching English movie make the students
improve their pronunciation in speaking skill, watching English movie make the
students increase their vocabulary mastery, watching English movie make the
students improve their speaking accent, watching English movie build students
confidence.
