The Strategy of The Use Things Around Us As Media in English Teaching at eleven grade Students of SMA Al-Arifin Camplong Sampang

Implemented English lessons outside the classroom through the use of objects around
that were not prepared in advance. As long as the use of objects as media works efficiently and
effectively, it is felt by the teacher and makes students feel happy and motivated.
The purpose of this study is to find out How does the teacher’s use the media of The Use
Things Around Us As Media in English Teaching at eleven grade Students of SMA Al-Arifin
Camplong Sampang? and How the students’ responses The Use Things Around Us As Media
in English Teaching at eleven grade Students of SMA Al-Arifin Camplong Sampang?.
Researchers used a qualitative approach with the type of research that is descriptive.
Researchers collected data from observations, documentation, and interviews which were then
checked and analyzed the results of using learning media strategies outside the classroom using
qualitative analysis procedures.
The results of this study indicate that the teacher’s process of use the media Of The Use
Things Around Us As Media in English Teaching at eleven grade Students of SMA Al-Arifin
Camplong Sampang there are three steps are Pre-teaching (opening), Whilst teaching
(Implementation of Media), and Post-teaching (Evaluation and follow-up).
The Students’ Responses The Use Things Around Us As Media in English Teaching at
eleven grade Students of SMA Al-Arifin Camplong Sampang Some students gave responses,
such as (1). specific responses: when the teacher open the class by greeting the students, when
students display various forms of media that exist in their environment and apply it in the form
of English sentences, the teacher explain material or topic with media then the students give
respond directly and answer the teachers’questions. (2). Choral response when the teacher give
pay attention to the teacher. (3). Laugh response when the students did not to answer the teacher’
question so the students laugh. (4). Silent response when the teacher gives students the freedom
to choose the media around them. students feel confused from the various media choices around
them.
The suggestions for teachers in using objects around us as media in learning English for
Class XI students at SMA Al-Arifin Camplong, namely teachers should continue to use this media
because they get good responses from students such as being able to increase students' motivation
and enthusiasm to learn English
