The Analysis of Students’ Need In Studying English Language at the Second Semester of D Class Perbankan Syariah (PBS) IAIN Madura

English language is the crucial language in every aspect. Even in a
business, economy, politics, mechanic and many others. For these many aspects,
English language has different approach on that language. Therefore, students
study about English for specific purpose dealing with what they need or their
aspect. English for Specific Purpose (ESP) draws attention to learning-centered
approach in which all decision are based on the learner’s reason for learning.
This research has two research problem that are 1) what are the students’
needs in studying English at the second semester of D class PerbankanSyariah
(PBS) IAIN Madura? and 2) what are the motivations of studying English at the
second semester of D Class PerbankanSyariah (PBS) IAIN Madura?. Based on
those research problem obviousely this research has two reseach objectives, that
are: 1) to describe the students’ need in studying English at the second semester of
D class perbankan syariah IAIN Madura. And 2) to describe the factors of
studying English at the second semester of D class perbankan syariah (PBS) IAIN
Madura
The research method that used in this research is qualitative whereas
research design on this research is descriptive. The data generated from the
interview, observation and the collection of documents. The data of this research
were obtained from students especially the participants are 10 students in the
second semester of D class perbankan syariah PBS IAIN (Madura)
The result of this research that has been analyzed by researcher shows;
there are three of students’ need in studying English at the second semester of D
Class perbankan syariah (PBS) IAIN Madura, these are: they need to study
English because English is important to know, for the future as a banker, and
because they love English language. Whereas the motivations of studying English
at the second semester of D class perbankan syariah IAIN Madura has four
factors, these are: for mastering English dealing with their major, self motivation,
add new language skill, and self motivation and outside motivation.
Based on the research above, studying English for specific purpose is very
needed, indeed it is dealing with the major. The researcher hopes the student of
perbankan syariah (PBS) IAIN Madura, specifically the second semester of D
class perbankan syariah (PBS) IAIN Madura know what exactly they need in
studying English at their major
